Module 2
Sales & Marketing
Turn enquiries into orders without the handoffs and re-keying.
Our Perspective
Selling is hard enough without fighting your own systems. We see the same setup again and again: a deal tracked in a CRM, priced in a spreadsheet and invoiced in a separate accounting package, with someone re-keying the same order three times and a little margin leaking at every step. The problem was never your sales team — it was the gap between where you win the work and where you actually fulfil it. Business Central closes that gap so a quote becomes an order becomes an invoice without anyone touching it twice, and every rep finally walks into the conversation knowing the full customer picture.
Sales & Marketing combines quote-to-cash order processing with built-in relationship management, so your customer conversations and your transactions live in the same system. There is no gap between the CRM where you track the deal and the accounting system where you fulfil it — they are the same place. It suits sales teams and business owners who are tired of toggling between a contact list, a pricing spreadsheet and a separate accounting package just to get one order out the door.
What you can do
- Sell end to end: Create quotes, sales orders and invoices that flow straight through to inventory and finance — stock is reserved, the ledger updates and nothing is keyed twice.
- Manage relationships: Track every contact, opportunity, quote and interaction against the customer record, so anyone on the team can pick up the thread and see the full history.
- Price intelligently: Apply customer-specific pricing, volume discounts and payment terms automatically at the point of sale, so the right price is always on the quote.
- Speed up with AI: Draft sales lines, product descriptions and personalised follow-ups with Copilot, turning a rough request into a ready-to-send quote in seconds.
Inside Business Central
In practice, you work with Sales Quotes, Blanket Orders, Sales Orders, Invoices and Credit Memos, with Drop Shipments and Special Orders linking a sale straight to a purchase. Price management runs on Sales Price Lists with line and invoice discounts, customer price groups and campaign pricing. The Customer Card carries credit limits, payment terms, dimensions and a full ledger, while Item Availability shows what you can promise and when. The built-in Relationship Management side adds Contacts, Opportunities and the sales pipeline, plus Campaigns, Segments and a logged Interaction history — so marketing activity and sales transactions share the same records. Copilot marketing-text and sales-line suggestions speed up the day-to-day, and document sending handles email, PDF and e-invoicing.
The business impact
- Cut quote turnaround time and respond to customers while the deal is still warm and you still have the edge.
- Give every rep a complete view of order history, credit status, open quotes and outstanding balances before they pick up the phone.
- Eliminate the re-keying between CRM and accounting that quietly causes pricing errors, missed terms and lost margin.
- Forecast revenue from a live pipeline tied to real orders, rather than a spreadsheet that's out of date by Friday.
Works with
For deeper pipeline and campaign management, Sales & Marketing integrates with Dynamics 365 Sales and Microsoft 365 — manage opportunities from Outlook and Teams, and report on win rates and rep performance in Power BI. Add an e-commerce connector such as Shopify so online orders drop straight into Business Central, ready to pick, ship and invoice with no manual transfer. Marketing extensions on AppSource can sync segments and campaign activity back to the same customer records.
